Fomar Borg Automotive S.A. is the leading manufacturer of friction materials for the automotive industry in Poland and one of the largest manufacturers of such materials in Europe. Fomar Borg Automotive S.A. offers the widest range of friction linings for passenger cars and trucks among all domestic producers.

We have operated a production plant in Marki near Warsaw for the last 50 years and have helped millions of drivers in Poland and all over the world to feel safe in their vehicles.

Fomar Borg Automotive S.A. has been present on the market for more than a century. This fact accounts for our great expertise in production and trade, know-how and technology, as well as high quality of products and their effective operation in everyday use. We were the first producers of brake linings in Poland to eliminate asbestos from the production process and replace it with new generation materials which are neutral for the environment and the user and which also help to improve performance.

The company name has been changed a few times. At first the company established its presence on the Polish and European market as FOMAR S.A., and then became FOMAR ROULUNDS S.A. (after the privatisation carried out in 1997 by A/S ROULUNDS FABRIKER of Odense, Denmark). Currently the owner of the controlling stake of shares is BORG AUTOMOTIVE A/S of Silkeborg, Denmark.

The friction materials programme for the spare parts market consists of high quality brake linings, some of which are used in the so-called original equipment (OE), i.e. for production of cars by numerous manufacturers of the automotive industry in Europe. This fact confirms particularly good performance parameters. Friction materials in the spare parts programme are an effect of cooperation of Fomar Borg Automotive S.A. with European automotive industry manufacturers, as well as many-years of experience in the development of friction materials. The plant has a specialised research and development unit which enables us to design new high quality products and monitor the production quality on an on-going basis.

The objective of Fomar Borg Automotive S.A. is that new OE-standard friction materials reach the spare parts market as soon as possible, popularising the best properties of new solutions for the materials used in the braking systems of new vehicles. As a consequence, the latest friction materials and our know-how gained during the cooperation with manufacturers operating in the automotive industry are available also to the customers of the spare parts market.
